Gay Marriage, Christmas carols and Ramadan

If there is one thing the Global Economic Crisis and Climate Change has shown the world’s communities, it is that we all share this small planet. When the economy gets sick, we all suffer. When the climate has a hiccup, we all suffer. When the atmosphere gets damaged, we all suffer.

Why is it then, when we are not united by economic melt down or natural disaster, that we are so determined to be offended by the tiniest of differences between us?

All over the world, we are offended by and take steps to regulate against, anything which makes us different and unique – and perhaps a little frightening?
